Edit Menu: Cut, Copy, and Paste.

Overview

The Edit Menu contains the 'Cut, Copy and Paste' buttons to edit the Information contained in tables. This capability operates on complete rows in the table. The Assignment, Estimate and Action tables only support the Cut capabilities.

The 'Cut, Copy and Paste' capability is enabled based upon the License Key that is enabled on your system.

Single or Multi-Select Rows

By default, tables provide a single row selection. This row may be synchronised with information in other tables. This mode ensures that only one set of information is selected.

Select a Single Row

1) Select the table to use (click in any area and ensure the header rows are blue)

2) Ensure that the 'multi-select' button is not selected

3) Click on a row to select (this is the default mode of operation).

Select Multiple Rows

1) Select the table to use (click in any area and ensure the header rows are blue)

2) Click the 'multi-select' button and ensure that this button is set. (Orange colour)

3) Select one or more rows using:

  • Click and drag to select a number of rows
  • Click the first row, hold down the <shift> key, and select the last row
  • Hold down the <Ctrl> key and click on any rows to select.

Clicking on any single row without <Ctrl> or <Shift> held will reset the selection to a single row.

Cut, Copy, and Paste

Cut

Cut makes a copy of the selected rows and then deletes these rows from the table. The UnDo button will reverse this operation.

The cut button is selected if the license key allows this table to be edited.. The copy allows the paste operation to be enabled.

Copy

Copy makes a copy of the selected rows. The copy allows the paste operation to be enabled.

Paste

The paste button is enabled when information has been copied from either the cut or copy operations. Paste will insert the copied rows after the currently selected row. The UnDo operation will remove these rows.

Copy to File

The information saved from a previous cut or copy operation is copied to a specified file. This file can then be used to paste information into the this plan at a later time or into another plan.

This feature is only available with the 'Single Project' License Key.

Paste from File

The information saved into a file can be pasted back into the same plan or a different plan. A copy of this information is also saved to allow the normal paste operation to repeat the paste without opening the file.

This feature is only available with the 'Single Project' License Key.
